In the first years of the program, SWAR was able to sustain the program by making jewelry and selling it to a middleman who sold them internationally. It was a very successful venture until the one customer pulled out and the organization could not make enough funds for sustaining itself as the market dwindled. So SWAR as an organization is working on looking for a new bigger market for its products; but for now we are selling to a few friends and local market.
Jewelry in the past used to cater for the children of the SWAR women in the area of school fees and it had been quite effective. We project that in the near future; if we find a properly well established market this initiative will in the long run help SWAR as an organization to cater for the needs of the children.
